Impermanent loss

The opportunity cost LPs incur when pool token prices diverge.

Definition

In depth

Impermanent loss is the gap between holding two tokens in a wallet versus providing them as liquidity. The bigger the price divergence between the two tokens after you deposit, the larger the loss — it only becomes permanent when you withdraw.
