Halving

A scheduled 50% cut to Bitcoin's block reward, every ~4 years.

Bitcoin's protocol halves the per-block subsidy roughly every four years (every 210,000 blocks). This shrinks new supply over time toward the 21 million cap and historically precedes major price cycles.
