Keeping private keys offline, on hardware that never touches the internet.

Cold storage protects crypto by keeping the private keys on a device that's never been connected to the internet — typically a hardware wallet or paper wallet. Long-term holders move most of their balance to cold storage to eliminate online attack surface.
